Where: Mt Sinai Hospital in NYC, Lecture Room TBD
Price: Free to S.A.M. PA #1 members; $20 to S.A.M. members; $25 for non-members

Jason Ladanye recently published his first book, Confident Deceptions. This is a collection of his strongest eighteen effects created over the past fifteen years. On December 4th, Jason will teach his favorite effects from these pages. You might be surprised to find out that the most powerful effects are the easiest to do.

In this lecture, Jason teaches how to push a deck of cards through the table (from under the spectator’s hand.) Learn how to transfer a spectator’s signature from the face of a card to the face of another. And, you’ll learn one of the strongest two-card transpositions in print. (The card is face up and in the spectator’s hand!)

His approach to magic is simple. It’s not about new complicated sleight of hand. Jason looks for original plots and uses time-tested well-known sleights to achieve miracles for laymen. The tricks are practical and logical. Each effect is a chance to tell the audience an entertaining story. Powerful and entertaining magic is what Confident Deceptions is all about.

Garrett Thomas Lecture

Garrett Thomas

If you care about magic as an art, you must see Garrett Thomas; Motivational Speaker for Magicians. Why do you do what you do? Do you want to take it to the next level? Just spend some time with Garrett, and you will soon learn how to further your magic in simplicity, clarity, and most importantly, how to evoke astonishment. You will learn some of the effects that have made Garrett a favorite amongst top magicians. Also, learn many touches to be applied to your own magic. A Real-World Magician and consultant to David Blaine, Garrett has performed in the world famous Forks Hotel and Bar, and now performs in restaurants and clubs all over Western New York. A member of the elite FFFF magic society, Garrett Thomas has performed and lectured at clubs and conventions all over the United States, Canada, and the UK, and is now coming to your area. Garrett brings back magic in its purest form. His effects are simple, clean, well-thought-out pieces of magical art. Coins appear, melt away, and jump from one hand to the other in ways that defy description. One of his most popular effects, The Ring Thing, is a fast demonstration of finger ring manipulation. Garrett is well known for his sleight of hand, he teaches the tools that can be applied to many of your favorite routines, and he can restore new life to some of the moves and gimmicks you already use, or have in your magic drawer at home.
