Workshops

Workshop on Friday, August 15th

Topic: Pentrations

The next workshop will take place on Friday, August 15th, 7:15 PM at Fantasma Magic, 421 7th Avenue(33rd Street), 2nd floor, New York, New York. Workshops are only open to Parent Assembly members.

From George Silverman, workshop chair: Thanks to Ken Krenzel for a terrific topic this month. Penetrations are among the most baffling of all effects, and are much more pervasive than we tend to think about. Even the Ambitious Card routine is a series of penetrations. Penetrations are part of every branch of magic. You can even argue that some mentalism is the penetration of the mind. Coins, rubber bands and virtually any other object can create illusion of impossible penetration.

Bring your favorite penetrations. We'll go over some visible rubber band penetrations, classics such as toothpicks and/or matches, and some offbeat and weird penetrations.

Note: Workshops are for PA#1 members, or visiting SAM members from outside the Tri-State area. If you are in the Tri-State area but not a member, you can come as a guest, but you are strongly encouraged to join, since it is a free perk, like the lectures. Magician guests who are invited by a member are welcome. Please do not bring non-magicians to the workshops.

If you have recently made an inquiry about joining us, you are more than welcome to attend the workshop at no charge as our guest. Introduce yourself and feel free to participate actively, or just observe, whatever you are comfortable with.

Remember: No pressure, positive and constructive feedback, encouragement.
Many of our members say that the workshops are the best things we do. Come, participate and learn a lot of magic in a friendly, supportive environment.
